HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

My new 17-cr0xxx Envy PC with an Intel core i7 1260P is what my question is about.

How many pins is on the ram, how many pins ram does this machine use.

I can't find the information anywhere.

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Heywood78.

HP has the following spec sheet for your model, which clearly states that it uses 262-Pin DDR5 RAM. The two manuals that are available for your series (manual1/manual2) are actually about the older Tiger Lake models (which HP in its infinite wisdom has decided to rebrand as 10th gen Intels) and both list 260-Pin DDR4 RAM as the one used. Unfortunately, this is not the first time a laptop series' documentation has gone completely haywire. This Notebookcheck review clears things up a bit, since we can clearly see that DDR4 was used.......

This is further confirmed by HP Partsurfer, where only DDR4 RAM modules are listed as parts, and also on the Crucial upgrade page for this model, again 260-Pin DDR4 RAM.

Therefore, the answer to your question is 260 Pins.

Thank you so very much, TzortzisG. I was very confused indeed between the 260 or 262 pin configuration.

I very much appreciate your answer and, the spec sheet to accompany it.

Have a wonderful day.

Again, Thank You.

You are very welcome.

Just to be perfectly clear, I repeat that the official spec sheet by HP is wrong, and everything else is correct. That means that these laptops have 260-Pin DDR4 RAM.

Take care!
