I bought a HP pavilion x360 convertible 14m-cd0xxx back in 2018 and didn't realize it would be so slow so I never really used it. Now I want to upgrade a few things in order to be able to use it properly. I want to upgrade the HDD to ssd and the ram and I wanted to know what the max ram I can put in it. I'm getting different answers from lots of different places. I'd like to put two 16gb sticks of ram (total of 32gb) if possible. I've seen one answer the max is two 8gb sticks (total of 16gb) but I've seen other places/people say they've put more with no problem. Would love to know what I can actually do

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion x360 14m Convertible PCIMPORTANT! This document is intende...

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory for the notebooks with the Intel core processors is 12 GB.

That does not make sense to me because if the notebook has two memory slots it should support an 8 GB memory chip in each slot.

If you want to see if 2 x 16 GB of memory is supported in your notebook, you can do this to see if that is possible:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The Crucial memory report for the model series indicates that only 16 GB of memory is supported.
