So, long story short I want to put a TB memory card in my new laptop for games among other things. But, I checked both sides of my laptop and I don't see a slot where I could put it. If someone is handy with this kind of stuff, what the heck do I do?

No idea why many HP machines now do NOT have SD card reader. My TWO (out of 4 HP machines) do not have SD card readers. I'm an amateur photographer with dozens of CD/SDHC/SDXC cards therefore I have to buy THREE USB card readers. Well that's life.
