I had an Omen 17 as my product loan when they first came out. I never noticed or had any temperature issues when playing demanding games on it.
I would suggest looking a a far larger sample of Omen owners than just the forum .
For that reason I suggest perfoming a search with Omen 17 and a ahort and concise phrase such as high temps as key words.
I recommend using Intel's desktop utility to compare the Temperature you have been seeing with a third party utility. I suspect that Intel's utility may deliver a more accurate temperature reading.
The download page for the desktop utility is at the following Intel URL.

The thread that discusses a very similar issue is at the following link. It was from a couple of years ago.

Most of the intel utilities can't be installed because I am not using an intel motherboard (I think, is what it says). And for the one that can be installed Intel extreme tuning utility, it doesn't have fan speed. However, the CPU temp is only different by 1C from Speedfan.
I gave you +1 for taking the effort to get the thread from years ago for me. Thank you. But I need to figure out how to use RW everything to diagnose my problem. Actually, It is strange, Both fans do turn faster during gameplay. I can hear it. I just don't understand why the fan speed on speedfan is in the low hundreds for one of them.

The video link is no longer working. Can you update it please.
I have removed all the screws (4 on the top, 4 on the bottom, 2 on the sides and 1 (underneath the memory cover)). Is there a trick to get the back cover removed?

My laptop has something inside of it that causes a rattle when tipped over. I was curious to know how I can find out what is causing the rattle. Any suggestions on how I should open my laptop so I can fix what may or may not need to be tended to?
