Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx. I bought a Crucial SSD and want to install it. I watched their video about creating a mirror image of my HDD and I ordered the SATA t0 USB 3.0 cable.
However, I noticed that inside the laptop there is space for a second HDD or SSD. So, I would like to make the SSD my primary/system drive and install the old HDD as a second drive and format it later. What kind of cable to I need to buy and where do I plug it in?
Also, any ideas on how to make a clean new installation on the SSD, instead of a mirror image of the existing HDD? I have a recovery CD, but when I removed the old HDD and connected teh SSD, the computer could not install Windows from the CD.
Thanks a lot!
Ivan

Looks like you need The bracket, connector cable, Mylar shield, and screws are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 665597-001. Unfortunately it is N/A from HP

Remove the original hard drive and place the SSD in its same position. Install the OS with just the SSD in the laptop and put the old HDD back in when you are done. Switch the positions of the SSD and HDD. In other words put the SSD in the bay where the HDD was originally installed.
