Hi,

The hard drive on this laptop stopped working just 4 months after purchase.

I want to change it but I've removed the 6 screws but see no way of opening it up.

Do I have to detach the display to open this darn thing up?

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.

 

The HDD R & R procedures can be found in chapter 6, starting on page 53.

According to the manual, you don't have to remove the display.
