Hi. I am unable to obtain a genuine HP battery where I am located at a reasonable price. I had to purchase and install a 3rd party battery that seems to work fine. I accept all responsibility. I would like to disable the counterfeit battery detection check. How do I do that?
Much appreciated.

Hi @OmerZeki
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing battery counterfeit errors.
HP does not recommend upgrading or downgrading or use non-HP parts /hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product as it may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance, however, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Treeko;
Although I do appreciate your reply, you have not helped at all. In fact, your answer qualifies as a bonafide BS.
Here in another country on the other side of the Ocean, finding a genuine replacement battery for my US-purchased laptop appears to be impossible, I have no choice but use a third-party battery that makes my laptop functional again.
Otherwise, I would be holding a Pavilion model brick!
I agree that it's good practice to warn the user that there's a non-HP battery installed and there may be risks associated with. I get it. This, however, does not give HP the right to display this annoying message every time the computer boots. Are you hoping that something will change after the 100th showing?
If you are including a message like this, then you need to include a mechanism to disable it. The users of your equipment are not all kids or idiots. I am an electronics engineer that knows a lot about LiPo batteries and definitely well-qualified for taking some calculated risks. I have already observed the and tested the battery behaviour before closing the cover.
If HP knows so much about LiPo batteries, how come mine has started failing while it was barely out of warranty? Now only 4 years old, the battery is completely failing.
This irritating issue and your answer does not fit the level of quality I see in my laptop, the quality I have come to expect from HP-branded equipment throughout my career as an electronics engineer, starting with my HP-11c calculator that still works after 45 years!
If there's no way to disable the message, please say so or say you don't know. Writing silly replies while pretending you are being helpful is prime BS and does not fit the image of HP that I know.
Best regards.
Omer.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
