Hi:

This is the latest BIOS update for your notebook...If you are not running W7 on it, I do not recommend that you use the Windows based flash.  Make the bootable USB flash drive and update the BIOS that way.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75888.exe

Description:

This package creates files that contain an image of the System BIOS (ROM)for the supported notebook models with a 68AZZ family ROM. This package is used to flash the System ROM on a supported notebook.

This package includes several methods for updating the BIOS version as follows:

- Use the HPQFlash Utility to update the BIOS directly in a Microsoft Windows Operating System environment.
- Create a bootable USB Key to update the system BIOS.
- Use System Software Manager (SSM) to update the system BIOS on PCs in a network.

NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the notebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information.

Fix and enhancements:

- Provides improved security of UEFI code and variables. HP strongly recommends transitioning promptly to this updated BIOS version which supersedes all previous releases.

NOTE: Due to security changes, after installing this updated BIOS, older versions cannot be reinstalled.

You're very welcome.

For whatever reason, HP designed the support pages to detect the operating system running on the PC.

So, if you are running W10 on there, and you go to the driver page, it will report that 'We were unable to find drivers for your product.'

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-probook-4720s-notebook-pc/4145330

But just above and to the left of that message, are two blue links...

Choose a different product series

Choose a different OS.

So, you can click on the 'Choose a different OS' link and a window will open.

On the left side drop down list you select the OS, and on the right side drop down list, you can select from the list of supported operating systems.

If you follow those steps, you will find the link to the BIOS update I posted...Under W7.
