Hello, my name is Vitaly.
I recently purchased to mine HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0048ur SSD Samsung 970 Evo Plus.
And in the program, Samsung Magician SSD showed close 1800MB/s instead 3500MB/s as stated on the package.
I connected the SSD to port m.2. The manual from my laptop said that the motherboard can get a speed of up to 3200MB/s.
I read online that you need to change the controller setting from IDE to AHCI.
But I can't change this parameter, so I don't see advanced settings in my bios f.29.
Please let me know what combination on my laptop I can use to unlock advanced options for my bios ?

If the bus is currently passing 20,000 MB/s, why do I get 1800 MB/s on the tests?
I have such a driver from Pavilion Gaming 15 on my controller storage:
What will happen if I install the driver from HP Pavilion 16, because it shows a speed of 3000 MB/s on tests on the Internet. Do you think it works or should it not be done?

There is no IDE setting in the BIOS...there is no IDE bus. So you are set by default to AHCI and could not change that. Have you installed the proprietary Samsung NVME driver? That usually adds a bit to the read and write speed but will not double it. There are no advanced BIOS options open. Pretty bare bones but there is nothing you could adjust to speed up the NVME speeds in any event.

1800 mbps is not slow. I would like to see the speed you register on CrystalDisk...that is the benchmark I use. Using the same SSD I get about 2400 mbps on my Zbook G3 with a 6th gen CPU. Not unusual to register less than the theoretical max speed

Hello Vitaly8.
As suggested by Huffer EXPERT Level 18 above, the only driver that makes sense is Samsung's own driver for these fast SSDs. You can find it on Samsung's page here! You should also update your 970 Evo Plus firmware (through Magician).
I agree that your SSD is throttled. This can occur on various levels and for many different reasons. A CPU not running at its top speed, a badly coded BIOS, power limits enabled when running on battery, a faulty m.2 slot or malfunctioning SSD, even some hidden Windows 10 settings (power plan, PCIe state link power management, maximum power level, etc) can all limit a fast PCIe SSD's speed. AHCI has pretty much NOTHING to do with anything. Read this discussion: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Ahci-SATA-nvme-ssd-Samsung-980...
Unfortunately, the most important thing is that HP laptops generally don't like these fast Samsung NVME PCIe drives, and often have issues. There are several posts on the forum about 970 EVOs causing various problems. Personally, this is the reason I stay away from the Samsung PCIe SSDs and prefer other brands. Sometimes exchanging the drive for a more compatible Crucial or WD is the only thing that makes sense.....
