You do not. You trust that it has the 90 day HP refurbished warranty. Might be a return which has been carefully checked by HP techs and returned to original condition or it might be overstock product originally intended to be sold as new that they decided to let go cheaper as refurbished. In either case the BIOS has been tattooed with an xxxxproduct number to identify it as refurbished which means it went on the tech bench before being reboxed. Refurbs are some of the best laptop bargains there are.
