Hi,
Yes it is possible to replace the hard drive with a 2.5" SSD. You can choose whatever size you need, I recommend at least 250GB for OS and software.
You will need to reinstall the Operating system, which will be automatically activated once installed. You can reinstall the OS either by using recovery disks, migrating and image or what I prefer is performing a clean install by downloading the media creation tool from icrosoft and creating a bootable pendrive.

One of the best performance prize SSD is the Samsung Evo 850.
In the service manual on page 66 you can see how to replace the drive:

Let me know if you need any further help,
David

Hi, I need a help!
I buy SSD, and when I replaced it, my laptop doesn't recognize new SSD. BIOS won't show me my new SSD.
LITE-ON M6M SERIES 256GB 6GBPS MSATA 1.8-INCH MLC OEM INTERNAL SOLID STATE DRIVE (SSD) LMT-256M6M
I know, it should be 3.5" but I have an adapter. I added a picture of that.
This SSD works well on my work laptop. DELL
p.s...I used to use another one SSD (SanDisk 3.5" 120Gb) and it works good, and BIOS shows me my SanDisk SSD.
My laptop HP Envy m7 Touchscreen
So what is the problem?
Thanks
