Temporarily disconnect the hard drive.

Install W10 on the SSD and make sure the PC boots from the SSD.

Plug the hard drive back in and format it to leave one blank partition.

The notebook should boot from the SSD and then you can use the Windows disk management utility to initialize the hard drive and make it active for storage.

Hi:

What kind of M.2 SSD did you install?

The notebook only supports SATA M.2 SSD's not NVMe.

When you want to use the 2.5" drive as storage, you need to format it so that the drive is completely empty, or the PC will always boot from the 2.5" drive first if there is an operating system installed.

I used WD Green SATA SSD M.2 2280 (240 gb)

What I want is to use the ssd for booting (basically having Windows) and hdd for storage. Can you share the configuration steps for the same.
