> Only issue can't modify bios to run in dual channel mode

That something that I have NEVER seen within BIOS SETUP.

For me, it's always been the case that when the motherboard is capable of running in dual-channel mode,

and it finds that the two (or four) sticks of RAM are compatible with dual-channel mode,

the motherboard will automatically switch to dual-channel mode.

Google-search for "download free SPECCY".

Install the second 8GB stick.

Download/install/run SPECCY, to see if your motherboard has switched to dual-channel mode.

Thanks for the response mdk popping in a extra ram and dual channel running automatically is what I thought too. Speccy is the program that I've been using 🙂 it says 16gb single-channel ddr3. Then when I click on ram

Used memory slots 2
Channels # Single

I thought since it had to slots it would be able to run in dual channel. Did some research and folks claim you can enable it in bios on some motherboards. This is not one of them unfortunately.

This is true for most, but not all, motherboards.  Sigh.
