I have a really old laptop, and wanted to upgrade my cpu. Do you know the Max cpu that I can use on my laptop? And if i wanna do overlock, does it damage it if its not how?😊

Thank you

That is somewhat helpful but the full model number would help even more. Likely on the bottom of the laptop.

I believe this is the correct service manual:

Manual

Top processor is Core 2 Duo P8700 which would offer a somewhat improved experience over the T6600:

Memory can go up to 8 gigs of DDR2-800 which is pretty pricey. You can likely find a P8700 for very little expense.

The fact that this processor can be purchased for $5 US ought to tell you its obsolete.

You likely will not be able to overclock it because multiplier adjustments found in desktop BIOS are not available in consumer laptops. Can we have the full model number of it? There are Intel and AMD CQ61s and we need to figure out the motherboard you have to tell you the best processor you can install.

So if the motherboard is capable for this new cpu, i am going to order it 🙂

Yes you have the PM45 chipset which means you have discrete graphics and can definitely use the P8700 processor.  Good luck.
