HP ENVY x360 13 Convertible PC (231N6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I've always been a fan of HP and have bought the HP ENVY X360 13-AY0122AU. It's still under warranty until December 2022.

I rarely bring my laptop out, I've never dropped it, there is no dent or scratches and out of a sudden, it just cracked when I tried to close my laptop one day.

I've contacted HP Customer Support and they said that it's not a known issue and that it won't be covered under the warranty (even though there are 6months left). From all the posts from google, it's pretty obvious that this is a manufacturing design flaw in this model series.

It costs RM1,500 (40% of the laptop's cost for the repair).. will definitely be considering bringing this up to KDPNHEP, if the warranty is not covered. The laptop is so expensive and it's such a sad experience after having to use it just for 1.5 years.

UPDATE:

HP has agreed to change the hinges under warranty.

Thanks
