I want to upgrade my M. 2 SSD from 128 to 1 TB or 512GB but I'm not sure if it's gonna be compatible, someone told me that if I have a 1 Tb HDD I can only put a 128 M.2 is that correct or can install a 1 Tb ssd M.2 to this model?
My current storage is a 128GB SanDisk M.2 Sata3 and a 1 TB HDD.

Hi:
Generally, the drive capacities listed in chapter 1 of the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the max capacity supported.
It appears that you can also swap out the M.2 SATA SSD for a faster NVMe SSD.

I read this manual and I'm not sure what to make of it, it says in dual storage if for example I have an ssd and an hdd Tha max ssd support is 256 and before that it says 512GB nvme there's no direct answer and I couldn't find anything online other than this manual my laptop is 15t and the manual says 15m through 15 what does that even meen?

The 't' means that the notebook has an Intel processor.
The service manual covers these models as shown in chapter 1...
Product Name HP ENVY x360 15m Convertible PC (model numbers 15m-bp0xx through 15m-bp1xx)
HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PC (model numbers 15-bp0xx through 15-bp1xx)
The 15-bp1xx would be your notebook's model series.
I don't see any reason why you could not install a 500 GB SATA or NVMe SSD with the 2.5" 1 TB mechanical hard drive.
