Hello,

I need information about how much I can expand the ram memory in HP Omen wd0220nw. I have 16 GB ram 5600 mhz, how much can I expand to what the motherboard supports. 32 or 64 Gb ram and what max speed.

Hi:

I can't find any specs on your notebook's processor other than some sites I found just indicate Intel i7.

If your notebook came with 5600 MHz memory, that is the fastest speed memory any of the processors offered in the model series can run the memory at.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade information:

pdf_7768944_en-US-1.pdf (hp.com)

The Crucial memory report for the model series indicates it will support 2 x 32 GB of memory:

that's what I'm afraid of, will 64 GB of ram work, because the service booklet says 32 GB max. Buying 64 is no problem, worse, with further resale in Poland 😕 Thanks for the help, I'll wait, maybe someone will help.

You're very welcome.

You can also run this command to see what Windows indicates:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

I can't find any discussions where someone has actually installed 64 GB of memory in that model series.

You can find resellers on Amazon who add memory and/or install larger capacity SSD's in them.

Here's a guy that is selling them with 64 GB of memory installed.

According to your formula, which I checked with CMD, it is max 16 GB 🙂

So much for that.

I've noticed that report is becoming less useful on some of these newer model notebooks.
