Hello, my hp did a hardware diagnostics check and recommended 3 sets of drivers with one being very critical. I did download the drivers but they need interactive installation and i don't know which command prompt to run. please help. Thank you.

Installing the drivers does not include using using the command prompt.
Just double click on the downloaded driver software file and follow the onscreen instructions to install them.
That is about the best it will get because we just can't see what you are seeing.

It appears that one of the updates did some damage to the OS.
When you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.
When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue
Type in msinfo32 and press enter.
The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.
The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.
You can find the product number and product name of your laptop on the bottom in tiny letters.
Post them here in your next reply.
You will need the serial number of your notebook. It will be on the box it was delivered in or on the bottom of your laptop. Don't post the serial number here.

Are you sure that it wasn't the HP Support Assistant?
I don't recall the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics utility offering or warning about updates.
