What is the product number of your notebook?

Run the Windows system information app and the product number will be found on the System SKU line.

For some reason, I get no information on that product number.

Enter your notebook's serial number in the search window at the link below and let me know what model number or model series your notebook is if you don't know already.

Yes, that works.

You have a HP 15-bs004ni notebook PC.

The notebook does have a RTC battery, and the part number can be found in chapter 3 on page 18:

RTC battery   HP part # 922847-001

Chapter 6 has the RTC battery removal and replacement procedure.

The picture on page 59 seems to indicate it is a standard CR2032 coin cell battery and you can access it by removing the battery, optical drive and bottom cover.

How do I know if it's damaged

HP Recommended

If the notebook does not keep the date, time and BIOS settings when it is shut down and unplugged or you get a CMOS 502 checksum error when you turn the notebook on, most likely the battery is dead.

Your notebook's around 7 years old so it would not be unusual for the coin cell battery to die around now.

Yess, I just changed the battery few days ago

HP Recommended

If replacing the battery didn't resolve the problem, I wouldn't know what the problem could be.

It could be a bad BIOS chip on the motherboard.
