Hi:

You should be able to install 2 x 8 GB of memory for a total of 16 GB.

I would run the free crucial memory scan tool and see what it reports...

I tried to open this CrucialScan.exe but it is not working.

Sorry that didn't work.

I checked the Kingston site and it also shows 16 GB for the 15-ac series with the core processors.

Copy the whole link above including the black text into your browsers address bar to get the exact page I was viewing.

You're very welcome.

HP normally names their consumer notebooks that have Intel hardware with a 't' and notebooks with AMD hardware with a 'z'.

So, since your notebook has Intel hardware, the base model in the model series your notebook is part of, is called a 15t-ac000.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-15-ac000-notebook-pc-series/7771404/model/8381866/drivers

But the memory link you last read would cover your notebook series including your model.

The only ones it doesn't cover are the ones with the Pentium and Celeron processors, because I believe those models only have one memory slot that takes up to 1 x 8GB memory, where yours can take 2 x 8 GB.
