Memory = RAM....Just buy the same thing you got before to go from 6 gigs to 12. Once you get the SSD we can help you install it and get software on it. And make sure your dad is cool with all this I would not want to intervene in something that is not my business with somebody else's kid.

That (new motherboard) was never gonna happen...glad we let you know that. Like I said, post back once you have the SSD and we can take it from there. Good luck.
