I can't update to Windows 11 24H2. When I launch the update in the settings, as soon as it's 8%, they tell me an error.

@Abraham639, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing errors while trying to update to Windows 11 24H2 and the update process stops at 8%, causing an error, here are a few solutions you can try:

Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select Windows Update and run the troubleshooter.

Check Disk Space:

  • Ensure you have enough disk space available for the update. Windows updates typically require sufficient free space.

Disable Antivirus Software:

  • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus software that might be interfering with the update process.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Ensure all your drivers are up to date. Use the HP Support Assistant or the manufacturer’s website to update your drivers.

Manually Update Using Installation Assistant:

  • Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from the Microsoft website and follow the instructions.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Do a full disk cleanup on the volume where you want to install Windows 11 before upgrading. Delete all temporary and system files the cleanup routine offers to delete.
