Hi @Clovemoney,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion Plus 14 laptop is not recognizing your 1TB mobile SSD when you plug it into the USB port, there could be several potential causes. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help identify and resolve the issue:

1. Check the SSD Connection

Ensure the SSD is properly connected to the USB port.

  • Try Different Ports: Plug the SSD into a different USB port on your laptop.Check the Cable: Ensure the USB cable is functioning correctly. If possible, try using a different cable.

2. Check Disk Management:

  • Press Win + X and select "Disk Management.":
    • Look for your SSD in the list of drives. If it appears, check if it has a drive letter assigned.
    • Right-click the SSD and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths."Click "Add" or "Change" to assign a new drive letter.

3. Update Drivers:

  • Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
  1. Update USB Controllers:
    • Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.Right-click each USB controller and select "Update driver."Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  2. Update Disk Drivers:
    • Expand the "Disk drives" section.Right-click your SSD (if it appears) and select "Update driver."

4. Check for Drive Issues:

  • Use a disk utility tool (e.g., CrystalDiskInfo) to check the health status of the SSD.

5. Enable the Device in Device Manager.

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
  2. Enable the Device:
    • Look for your SSD under "Disk drives" or "Unknown devices."Right-click the SSD and select "Enable device."

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
