All-in-One 24-f0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My All-in-One 24-f0xx is reporting errors on the HDD (7200rpm 1TB SATA).  I'm going to go ahead and upgrade to an NVMe M.2 SSD. I've read some of the other similar posts on here and have a few questions.  What I'd like to do is install the SSD, clone the failing SATA drive to it and then make the M.2 my boot drive.  I don't have nor can I find a hardware reference guide for the pc.

1.  When shopping for the M.2 ssd drive, are there any specs I need to look for?  Will my pc support 2TB drive? This one was referenced in another post:  https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-500GB-MZ-V7E500BW/dp/B07BN217QG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=154905...

2.  ARe there any bios changes, etc that need to be made for the ssd to work or just install it and go?

3. Any recommendations for good and free cloning software?

4. What bios changes, if any, need to be made to make the ssd the bootable drive after cloning and the bad drive is removed?

5. If I decide to go with a SATA ssd, will I need an adapter to properly mount it?  Is there a capacity limit for this drive?

Here is the upgrade manual:

PCie/NVME M.2 is supported. Trying to clone a failed hard drive is a recipe for trouble. If errors are being reported your hard drive is past the point of being a reliable source disk for a clone. Do you perhaps have a system backup? I strongly suggest a clean reinstall of Windows and then transfer specific files. I know this is a less than 100% solution but better then cloning over disk errors that may cause subtle problems.
