My fan has started making a really loud grinding noise. The unit is still under warranty, but I don't want to do without it for weeks. I know HP has a lot of videos up for DIY repairs but I can't find anything for this laptop, Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
If the notebook is still under warranty you could get in contact with HP support directly for the fix. In the link below, you can identify your machine and get contact options.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact/laptops
on page 56 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the fan.
