I'm having a problem finding the HP replacement part number for either the cooling fan or the cooling fan heatsink combination for my laptop.

It is a 17" inch screen model with Product Number: A2T85EA#ACB

The thing is I don't want to take the laptop apart twice. I'm using it for work and it's my only PC at the moment. When I turn on the computer, you can hear the cooling fan trying to spin. Only when it reaches a higher temperature does it spin correctly.

So it's not out yet, but it's going.

If anyone can supply me with the replacement part number for the fan, that would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Yeah that helps. I don't see any reason to replace the entire heatsink, but some places like eBay...I only saw the fan with the heatsink. Good to know the fan is the same no matter what. Thanks.

Hi,

If we look on page 85 of service manual we can see the different fan/heatsink assemblies depending on the specifications of your model. I believe that your model comes with Intel processor and 2048MB of discrete RAM. So the part number is

666391-001    That would be for the whole assembly. However, if you search with part number (the fan is the same for all the heatsinks) and write fan, you can find the fan on its own.

Hope it helps,
