Product: HP Pavilion dv6500 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I want to add 2 GB RAM for a total of 4GB RAM so that I can run Windows 10 and 11. Do I need to change the BIOS?

HP Recommended

Your dv6500's processor cannot run W11 24H2, which is the newest version.

 

The processor does not support SSE 4.2 which is a new processor requirement Microsoft implemented for W11 24H2.
