Microsoft Windows 11

I own a laptop HP 15s-fq1003na. I want to upgrade my initial SSD (which is 512gb), ia that possible? How to know if there is an additional slot? How much SSD/HDD can I add to my laptop?

Hi:

Your notebook only has support for one M.2 NVMe SSD.

If you need more storage, you will have to replace the 512 GB NVMe SSD with one having a larger storage capacity.

Consult the maintenance and service guide on your notebook's user guides page for the SSD removal and replacement procedure.

The parts list for laptop "15s-fq1003TU"  shows the following L85346-005 part which is NOT an NVMe.  This could be a mistake.  I was unable to find parts list for 15s-fq1003na

https://www.cpumedics.com/hp-l85346-005-128gb-m-2-2280-sata-iii-ngff-solid-state-ssd

Crucial shows that your system uses NVMe.  One of these is wrong.

Please run the following command using the admin command prompt

wmic /namespace:\\root\microsoft\windows\storage path msft_disk get Model,BusType

If you google using SDD model that wmic shows you will know if the NVMe is the correct SSD or not.

Hi, @BeemerBiker

The drive is NVMe and you looked up the part for a different model.

All HP 15s-Fq1xxx notebooks that come with Intel core processors support NVMe M.2 SSDs.

Right, but there was no parts list for the authors model that I could find.  I looked up 15s-fq1003 and found only 15s-fq1003tu

When that happens (as it does for most notebooks sold in Europe and the UK), then you can ask the person to enter the S/N of the notebook in the parts list and it should provide the parts included.

Also, the only SATA M.2 drives offered in the model series were the 128 GB ones.

The 256 GB and up are all NVMe.

I saw no need to address what type of drive it was.  I already knew it could only be a NVMe SSD.
