Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I want to find out if I can add RAM to my laptop Pavilion 14-ep0529 ((BN4M5EA)
It currently has 8gb (1 x 8GB) DDR4 3200.
Can I replace the 8 with a 16? Will it accept it, or is 8gb the max for my system?

You can convert the RAM value you got to GB by dividing it by 1024 twice.

67108864/1024x1024 =64 GB

Most likely, your notebook supports max 64 GB (2x32 GB).

If you want 32 GB (2x16 GB), I don't see any problems with it, as long as you use 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL22 modules.

@Simon19621,

According to your service manual (on page 2), your model with Intel i5 13th gen processor supports 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4-3200 memory.

Maintenance and Service Guide

If you just want 16 GB, you can install another 8 GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 module in the second empty slot.

If you want more than 16 GB, you can click this link and run the command for max RAM capacity your model can handle.

2 Steps to Check Maximum RAM Capacity of Your Computer

If it reports 32 GB, your model supports 2x16 GB memory.

Thanks again, I did it using Powershell (wmic not supported on my laptop) staggered I got 67108864!!!!!!
Am now thinking to go 2 x 16 (still not max I know) Any downsides to doing either?
Cheers
