Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (457S3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I want to upgrade SSD and RAM of my VICTUS 16 AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphic 16-e0550AX.

1. So, I want to know RAM specification, max supported capacity in both channel slots.

2. SSD specification, Is it GEN 3 or GEN 4, supported max capacity in both slots.

I want to use my already installed 8GB RAM, don't want to keep it useless.

1. So can I use 8GB +16GB combination of RAMs? Will it be safe configuration for laptop?

2. AND installed 512GB + 1TB combination SSDs? Will it be safe configuration for laptop?

@Vikas187,

See this thread.

Upgrade limit and slots for SSD, RAM in VICTUS 16 AMD Ryzen ... - HP Support Community - 9303855

Both of your M.2 slots are gen 3 (see page 2 of the manual).

The memory works best if a pair of modules of the same size is installed, as it runs in the dual channel mode. But you can add a 16 GB DDR4-3200 in the empty slot.

You can safely install a 1 TB NVMe in the secondary slot for data storage. You just need to initialize the drive first.

As mentioned, in manual both slots of SSD supports Gen 3 PCIe interface. But installed 512GB SSD SAMSUNG MZVL2512HCJQ-00BH1 in Gen 4 SSD mentioned on Samsung Website and internet. It's giving Gen 4 SSD due to PCIe 3 motherboard.

So I want to ask why HP has mounted Gen 4 SSD on Gen 3 interface and how can i get gen 3 ssd speed .

Should  I purchase Gen 3 or Gen 4 ?
