I want to upgrade my 8gb 1Rx16 to dual channel ram to 8gb 2Rx8 Single channel ram in my laptop. By this, I can have room for future upgrades and also believe that it will increase the speed of the system.

I have doubt, will it be capable with my laptop .

I will be using SKHYNIX ram MTA16ATF2G64HZ-3G2J1

See, i have 2 4gb ram sticks installed,  so I want to install 1 stick of 8 gb so that I can install one more 8 gb ram stick later because I don't have money at the moment. I wanted to know will my laptop support 2Rx8 ram or not.

OK, I know the reason now. You can install 8GB in one slot now. You can use compatible RAM such as

https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfra32a/ct22879699            (Ram will run at 2666MHz)

It should, 2R or 1R is the way vendors put chịps on physical sticks

Hope this makes sense.
