Currently my laptop has 1 TB HDD storage, and I want to upgrade to SSD. Does my laptop have an additional slot for storage, or would I have to replace my HDD?
Also, it would be really helpful if I could know the size (dimensions) requirements of the storage drive, that would go into my laptop.

Hello navya_verma.
According to your manual pages:
....your laptop supports (pretty much) every kind of storage you would like it to support. 2.5" 7.2mm HDDs (or SSDs) and m.2 2280 of either the SATA or the PCIe (NVME) flavour. So no need to take out the original hard drive. You can just install a fast m.2 2280 -this is the size (dimensions)- pcie 3.0 ssd. Like this user with your laptop https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/disk-drive-not-showing/m-p/851... that has a 1tb HDD and a m.2 pcie (SK Hynix BC511 HFM256GDJTNI). However, I should point out that since you didn't BUY the laptop with a dual storage configuration and your manual mentions the SSD board and cable as separate parts, it would be wise to open the laptop and check that the m.2 slot is physically present and fully functional before making any purchase, just to make sure.
Post back if you have more questions. Take care!
