Hello, I have been thinking about this for a while now, and I have been using this silver keyboard on my laptop with grayish black letters that are difficult to see at times under certain lighting conditions. Basically, it is easier to see when looking directly down on the keyboard. Sometimes the white light to lighten the keyboard helps, but I believe that is most helpful in the dark. Generally, when using this keyboard, it appears like I am looking at a plain silver buttons that do not have letters or numbers on them when looking at the keyboard from an angle.

Hi @JoshuaCaleb,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having a tough time with the keyboard visibility! Here are a few options to consider.
- Keyboard Overlay: You might find silicone keyboard covers that can add a layer of color and texture, making the keys more visible. Look for one that contrasts well with the silver base.
- Replacement Keycaps: If you’re comfortable with a bit of DIY, you could explore replacing individual keycaps with ones that have better visibility. Some keycap sets come in brighter colors or with more pronounced lettering.
- Backlit Keyboards: If your laptop supports it, you could consider upgrading to a backlit keyboard. This might not be feasible for all models, but it’s worth checking if a replacement part is available.
- External Keyboard: If none of the above options work, using an external USB or Bluetooth keyboard could be a practical solution, especially if you often use your laptop in low-light conditions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

yes i was looking at the overlays and upgrading the keyboard. I may need to do a bit more research. It seems that covers are the best option for me, but I am not finding any reliable covers available. thank you.
