I ran a system check, because my computer, kept freezing up and an error code came up that the hard drive failed the short test
Failure Id: GU4701-717A6X-MFPWXF-60SA03, So It was recommended that I back up my files and replace the hard drive. I would like to get a solid state drive, but I am unsure as to which one would be a good replacement. I have not attempted to take it apart yet, but did purchase an HP 500 GB SATA lll drive and now I am worried, I may have purchased the wrong one. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This one here?

If so, it should work just fine.

Hi:
Do you have the model number of the HP 500 GB drive you bought?
There are many different model HP branded drives.
BTW...below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series which has the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
