Product: Hp 15-ac143wm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was wondering if my hp laptop 15-ac143wm  can be upgraded from a i5 to i7 or i9. Do i need a new motherboard or can i still use the same it has. And do i need a whole new cooling system.  Im mostly interested in upgrading to i7 but id like to know about i9 before i make a purchase

Hi:

 

The processor your notebook has is an integral part of the motherboard, and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.

The costs associated with performing such an upgrade would come close to what you originally paid for the notebook, making such an upgrade a poor return on investment.
