I like to add a 16 gb ram to my hp pavilion x360 dh1178tu already 8 gb is there it will make 24 gb ram is that possible.  Do my laptop compact with this??

Yes, you can add 16GB of RAM to your machine to have 8GB + 16GB = 24GB
