Incompatible power source
03-04-2021 08:35 AM

Hi, I lost my original HP charger a few months ago, and whenever I plug my new charger in, it says it's an incompatible power source and runs incredibly slowly - I assume I need to get a HP charger, but which charger should I get so that my computer can run normally? Thanks

Hi:
Enter the serial number of your notebook in the search window at the link below, and it should provide you with the part number for the power adapter.
Then you can see if the part is available from HP at the link below, or check on eBay for genuine used but tested and working power adapters.

The power cord that goes from the wall socket to the adapter is sold separately.
The service manual (chapter 3, page 20) has 3 different part numbers of different wattages, so I don't know which one your notebook orginally came with.
