Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I have current 512 gb SSD installed on this laptop and 8 ram GB.

I want to download more games lately, and this requires extra RAM and my data storage on my SSD.

I do not prefer to change my SSD because this will cause a lot of hassle for me (I do not have external HDD to clone first before installing, and I have no experience upgrading SSD).

Do you guys have any recommendations?
Is installing SD card with my new games good? I would appreciate any feedback/comments 🙂 .

Thanks in advance

@Pecinta_Unggas,

According to your service manual (page 2), your model supports dual storage system ( M.2 NVMe SSD + 2.5" hard drive).

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

You can install a 2.5" SATA SSD drive and use it as a data storage drive. Page 34 of the manual describes how to install a 2.5" drive. You need a hard drive cable ( part # M02050-001) to connect a new drive to the motherboard.

See this thread below.  Apparently, some HP Pavilion 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-Ec2000 modeles come with a plastic dummy hard drive with a hard drive cable preinstalled.

You can remove the back cover of the laptop and check to see if it has a dummy drive too. If it does, all you need is a 2.5" SATA SSD. If you don't see the cable, you need a one. There's an eBay listing but this is ridiculously expensive. You can look for a cheaper one from other online venders.
