HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0501sa
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there,

I recently bought a game that has the minimum required specifications lower than my laptops.  However upon playing the game my frames are well below 60.  I realise there are many different reasons for this lack of performance however, it would be deeply appreciated if someone could inform me on how to boost my frames in general no matter how much( if there js a way/ways)  please list as many things as you can possibly think of.

Thanks

@mania_man101,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Well, according to HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0501sa Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support, your HP ENVY X360 13-Ar0501sa (6TC85EA) is fitted with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with integrated Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. This processor has limited gaming potential and is considered an entry-level GPU.

Your laptop has "onboard" (meaning non-upgradable) 4GB to 16GB non-removable DDR4-2400 SDRAM installed -hopefully at least 8GB -please confirm.

Here are useful suggestions to improve your gaming experience: How to increase FPS on laptop in Windows 10 [Step-by-Step] (windowsreport.com).

Hope this was helpful.

Hello again,

To confirm I have 8g of ram.  The link that u pasted will that work for Windows 11 as well? And is there a difference in performance between Windows 11 and 10 for gaming?

Thanks

@mania_man101,

Excellent question: the steps outlined in my previous link would also apply for W11 -nevertheless, here is a new link specifically with W11 in mind: https://windowsreport.com/windows-11-best-fps-settings/.

Please skip the for-profit "DriverFix" advertisement drivel, and start with "1. Enable Game mode".
