We have a Panasonic AG-HMC40 PROFESSIONAL AVCCAM. It has an HDMI out port on it. Can the HDMI port on our laptop receive the signal? We want to be able to live stream our church services. Will we need some other hardware?

Sorry, but the answer to the first question is no -- the HDMI is output only.
But presuming you were going to feed the video and audio from the camera to the laptop, HOW were you then planning on using the laptop to do live streaming? Asking because the laptop has its own camera -- and you might be able to use that.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

You can use notebook's camera as @WAWood mentioned above. Now back to your original question, your notebook has HDMI out port only. Connecting 2 HDMI out ports together won't give you anything.
Regards.

Laptop camera won't work. Our church has no "soft" spots so we'd have to use the sound system. Now unless HP makes a connector with a 75' cord that has a XLR connector to USB a laptop is out of the question.
Thanks to everyone for answering.
