Microsoft Windows 11

Hi HP Support Team,

I have an HP laptop with an Intel Core i3 10th generation processor. I would like to know if it is compatible with DDR4-3200 MHz RAM. Could you please confirm if this RAM speed is supported, or if it will run at a lower speed?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards

Hi:

No problem.

According to the product number you posted, you have a HP 15s-fq1074nl laptop PC.

Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook:

HP Notebook 15s-fq1074nl Product Specifications | HP® Support

According to the product specs, your notebook will run DDR4-3200 MHz memory at a maximum speed of 2666 MHz.

That must be a limitation of the BIOS, because the Intel processor specs indicate your notebook's processor can run the memory at 3200 MHz.

Intel Core i31005G1 Processor 4M Cache up to 3.40 GHz Product Specifications

HP would not install 2666 MHz memory in your notebook if it could run 3200 MHz memory at the full speed.

Hi:

Yes, it would be, but on most notebooks the memory will only run at 2666 MHz.

You would have to post the full model number or product number for me to let you know exactly how fast the DDR4-3200 MHz memory would run in your notebook.

Hi:

There's no such model number.

Please post the product number of your notebook.

Run the Windows system information app.

The product number can be found on the System SKU line about 1/4 of the way down on the report.
