Pavilion X360 DH-1042TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently bought a HP Pavilion X360 DH1042TX with 256 gb nvme ssd. The SSD is fine, but not sufficient  for storage. Is there any 2.5 inch Sata port in the notebook? have anyof you tried adding sata drive in the same or similar variant?

If yes, does adding a hdd there void my warranty?

Note: The model dh1040 tx is exactly the same notebook but with 1 tb hdd instead of ssd. So I guess there should be an empty sata port in this notebook.

Hi,

It is possible. You will need

Hard Drive cable  part number L51095-001

Ex

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=L51095-001&_sacat=0

Hard drive cover part number L51121-001

Ex:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=L51121-001&_sacat=0&LH_Ti...

On page 37 of service manual you can see the steps to install the Hard Drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06523509

However it would be easier, much more performance and probably cheaper to replace the M2 SSD with a higher capacity one (no limit to capacity). Even cheap ones such as the Crucial P2 will be much faster than any 2.5" Drive.

Hope it helps,

David
