Install additional SSD into HP 250 G6

I got an HP 250 G6 with a 1TB HDD. What are my options if I want to install an SSD, but also keep the 1TB HDD? Is the only way to do this to replace the DVD drive with an HDD caddy or are there any other options that also let me keep the DVD drive?

There is very likely a slot for a 2280 form factor SATA M.2 SSD which can be installed in addition to the hard drive.

The only caution is that you should open the computer before you buy an SSD to install. Make sure there is a slot where shown. Should be, but there have been occasional reports its not there on some models.

You do not want an SSD in an optical (DVD) caddy for several reasons. Put the OS on the SSD in the M.2 slot for best performance.

Thank you for this reply. Is there anything else I should look out for when buying an SSD for this laptop, other than that it's a SATA M.2 2280 SSD?

Of course, as per your tip, I'll open the laptop and check for the slot beforehand.

Nothing more. SATA M.2 SSDs have very few compatibility issues compared to NVME. You can  pretty much buy on price as there is very little difference among brands in performance; again unlike NVME.
