So I have a HP EliteBook 755 G4 and I upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 16GB. However it is showing the RAM installed is 16GB yet usable is only 7.43GB. What could be the issue and how do I get my laptop to use all the RAM available? I have tried all the methods like going to msconfig and setting maximum memory and unticking it. In the BIOS there is no option to change this and I updated the BIOS to the latest version. Please any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Your machine is an OLDER Business class machine, you NEED right part #, it this case you need SAME existing RAM or

             8-GB (PC3L-12800, 2400-MHz, DDR4L) part # 862398-850

as mentioned on page 44 of the manual
