Basically title. My Intel iGPU are MIA after doing a clean install in a new drive. I tried installing the drivers from the intel site but it gives an error because of not being able to find the device. It's literally the iGPU embedded in the CPU, the cpu is working fine. I've seen some stuff about iGPU being disabled if dGPU is detected but i don't know how to go around it.

Safe to say the device. i915 / 630 / intel iGPU, doesn't appear to be listed in the device manager.

I'm about to try going into safemode, disabling/uninstalling dGPU (nvidia 1060) to see if my system detects the i915 and loads the 630 driver.

Thanks for the help.

@dogmomgob, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager

Open Device Manager.

Click View > Show hidden devices.

See if the Intel iGPU shows up under Display adapters.

Manually Install Intel Drivers

Go to the Intel Driver Support page.

Download and install the Intel HD Graphics 630 drivers.

Check for Windows Updates

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Install any updates and restart.

I hope this helps.

Nothing on hidden devices, checked one by one.

Installed manually and gave error for not finding device.

Nothing on windows update.

I've come to think there was never an iGPU but i would like you guys to verify. I have no settings on bios to change or toggle GPU whatsoever (only thing remotely close is enable virtualization). Maybe I'm misremembering getting confused with my previous laptop, still it is crazy that i can't use my CPU at full.

Also i discovered an even worst problem: the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 Port is defaulting to USB 2.0 with every device i plug in, mind you i don't have any thunderbolt nor display port device available but there is no mention of anything "thunderbolt" in the device manager. Linux sees the port as capable and it loads the Thunderbolt driver, but windows just does literally nothing.

Can you help me confirm if my iGPU is factory/bios disabled, if it can be fixed, and help me troubleshoot the USB-C thunderbolt issue ? I should be able to use it as a 3.1 or 3.2 USB port, naturally. I've even bought hardware for it.

Here are some clues : (1) in all the USB-A ports, when a nvme in an enclosure is connected, it loads the nvme driver, don't remember the name, it doesn't load the USB storage one. (2) Also when i plug a tiny dock, a 6 in 1 USB-C adapter on windows it defaults to a resolution of 640, while on archlinux it behaves as expected showing 1080, althouhg in both cases it's registered, being handled, and functioning as 2.0, verified with linux utilities for speed and with usbdeview on windows.

Thanks in advance for your help.
