Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

For my Intel HD 620, the current version installed is 21.20.16.4574. However, Intel is offering an update with a following warning: "OEM drivers are handpicked, customized, and validated to resolve platform-specific issues, enable features and enhancements, and improve system stability. Intel’s generic graphics drivers are intended for testing, and we recommend using drivers from Hewlett-Packard (HP). Report any issues found with this driver to Intel."

My HP Support Assistant is not offering any update. Should I download the update from Intel Website?

Also, My HP Support Assistant takes too long on "Downloading messages and update definitions" once the Check for Updates process is initiated,  compared to on another HP Laptop at my home. The interface is also different for Hp Support Assistant.

I purchased this device in 2017 an it was latest. But this product was discontinued quickly and replaced with another variant probably because the variant that I have has another issue for which I will upload a video. I believe that HP is not offering any updates for my variant of expensive laptop.

Thanking in advance.

Hi:

I don't recommend it.

I wrote a knowledge base article at the link below for how to manually update the Intel graphics driver to the latest version.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Knowledge-Base/Updating-the-Latest-HD-Graphics-Driver-from-I...

If you look at one of the comments, the person said the updated Intel driver from Intel caused the Nvidia graphics adapter not to work properly.

"Ok, here is the problem with this work around. Now the secondary video card is not addressed.

I got a message when starting Adobe programs, You are using an older driver and may have performance issues.

Yep, I did the direct install, no message from the Adobe program but now the Nvidia card does not switch over and my game performance suffers."
