Hey, thank you very much, but id of my system board is 665347-001 and as the manual says it is dedicated for dual core prosessors only. Can you advice me which of those processors above could be the best for my laptop, taking into account the temperature tolerance. I chose the i5-2540m due to its similar work temperature in my opinion, but I afraid of overwarming. Should I make BIOS update?
HP Recommended
Is there relevant difference between 35 and 45 watt of the processor power in this case?
HP Recommended

The chipset is the same in all the boards, so I believe that the quad core processors will also work on your motherboard. The difference between the 35W and 45W should not be a problem and if you use quality thermal material (such as arctic silver 5 or similar) and the fan is in good working order the PC will probably run cooler than before.

Hope it helps,

David

Hey, I successed replaced my i3-2330m processor with i5-2540m. I used silver ceramique 2 termal paste. Laptop works fine, temperatures, as you said decreased, regarding to before the change, fan gets lower rotations. Thanks
HP Recommended

Hi, I am glad the upgrade worked out well. Yes, quality thermal paste will usually lower the temp. of the PC as many times not the best product are used in production.

Anyway, please join us again in the future. On the 27-28th of march there is an HP Expert day on the forum where all the experts and many HP workers will be online to help members with their questions. So, if you have any real difficult questions that would be a great time to ask them.

All the best,

David
