Microsoft Windows 11

Back in early January I performed a clean reinstall of windows 11 on my machine and recently I just noticed that instead of reading 16GB for the ram it's only reading 8GB my other ram slot isn't working so I figured that maybe it could've been the reinstallation that caused it to happen because ever since I did the reinstall my pc hasn't been the same, I think the problem might be the slot because I tested both ram sticks and they're working perfectly, so I just need to know if there's something that I can do to fix it.

An HP Service Center, upon confirmation that the soDimm slot was bad, would recommend replacing the system board.

Installing a guaranteed  compatible 16 GB soDimm module would be the most cost effective solution.

There isn't anything you can do to fix a failure of a memory slot on a motherboard.

Does that apply to an Hp service center as well, or do I just buy a 16GB ram stick once?
