I found an HP 2000 laptop with 2 gbs of ram, and it runs incredibly slowly. I cannot find out whether it supports 16 or 8 gbs of ram. If it has a limit of 8 gbs, can I remove the ram limit?

As mentioned on pages 2-3 of its manual ( c03575298.pdf), you can upgrade to 8GB

Manual says up to 8GB that means above 2GB, the limit is 8GB

The AMD E300 processor can only support 2 x 4 GB of memory.
You can increase performance by replacing the 2.5" 320 GB mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" 500 GB solid state drive (SSD).
