Sorry NO, the CPU is soldered to the motherboard that means you have to BUT new motherboard with new i7 CPU (if available) and you have to pay for new Windows lisence.

 

Very expensive upgrade.

But I opened the computer and took a look at the cpu. I noticed that the chip had its 4 corners soldered by a transparent plastic or something. I don’t think the underpart is soldered, but I am not sure. What do you mean by soldered? Because if only the corners are soldered, couldn’t I just remove the corner soldering and put new one there then solder it back?
